Let’s face it – there are always times when life is difficult.  And there are times when life is wonderful, exciting and beautiful. If we have some difficulty in our lives and don’t know what to do about it, we can easily be tempted to avoid the pain by overworking, drinking, taking drugs or becoming obsessed by social media.  We can become obsessed with something or someone or develop compulsive habits, like constantly checking that the lights are off or that the door is locked. I believe that  unwanted behaviour is simply a defence mechanism against an intolerable situation. 

Life is accelerating so fast that sometimes we can’t keep up with changes in relationships, work practices, pandemics, climate change or how to transition through the various phases of our lives. We are getting so many mixed messages about our identity, values and genuine self-worth that it’s no wonder we are confused. It’s time to stop and look at what is going on and find out who we are.

It is possible to release the impact of past traumas, grief, anxiety, identity crisis and many other issues with professional help.
