Most of us manage whatever life throws at us IF we have time and the capability to come to terms with it. More often, one trauma or misfortune hits us, followed by multiple traumas or events that undermine our self-confidence, our ability to sleep or enjoy life. And all the while, we are supposed to carry on with our normal activities as though nothing affected us. The tell-tale signs that all is not well include changes in our behaviour, for example, road rage, irritability, feeling overwhelmed or turning to an addictive behaviour or substance for momentary comfort. Sometimes, we are not aware of our addictive behaviours – such as overworking!
Grief has a greater influence in our lives than we realise because it is not just confined to someone’s death. It includes the break-up of a significant relationship, death of a much-loved pet, losing a job (including retiring from it!), moving job and/or country, losing our social circle or even ageing. At the heart of it, we are simple creatures who need to be able to reflect on what is going on, find meaning in life and above all, be able to relate to someone or something. And that is where I may be able to help.
If I could wave a magic wand like the fairy godmother to make your troubles disappear, I would. What I can offer, is to fall into step with you in a caring, non-judgemental and compassionate way, from the comfort of your own home, using Zoom.
With a background in finance, psychology, counselling and psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, teaching and my own occasional traumatic journey through life, I may have something to offer you.
So, why not give me a call for an informal chat on 086 3446673 and let’s take it from there.
